William
F. Wolf is a Senior Partner and the partner in charge of
the Tax and Accounting Division at White, Zuckerman, Warsavsky,
Luna, Wolf & Hunt, LLP. He is responsible
for the delivery of tax and accounting services to a broad
array of business enterprises and high net worth individuals.
He also serves as a litigation consultant in tax and accounting
matters.
Prior to joining White, Zuckerman, Warsavsky, Luna, Wolf & Hunt,
LLP, Mr. Wolf was a partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers.
During his twenty years there, he dealt with a wide variety
of businesses, working in both the audit and tax departments
and participating in the firm’s specialized industry
groups for real estate, financial institutions, and non-profits.
Over the past thirty years in public accounting, Mr.
Wolf has rendered many levels of attest services to a broad
array of private and public businesses. He has audited
both public and private companies, provided agreed upon
procedures related to public offerings and compensation
issues, and performed reviews and compilations. He has
performed fraud investigations and designed internal controls
to minimize fraud.
Mr. Wolf has had extensive experience in all aspects
of income taxation and is well versed in minimizing income
taxes, including tax planning related to the sale of an
asset. In addition, he is knowledgeable in leading edge
estate planning techniques. He is a seasoned business manager
with particular skills in projecting future operations,
analysis of investment opportunities and obtaining financing.
He regularly advises his business clients on how to improve
operating efficiency and profitability.
Mr. Wolf has also served as an expert witness giving
testimony on accountant’s negligence, tax aspects
of a lost profits damage claim, the liquidation value of
a seized thrift institution, analysis of profitability,
partnership allocation issues, estate tax matters, business
valuations, effective tax rates, fraud claims and other
issues. He has testified in California Superior Court,
U.S. District Court and U.S. Court of Federal Claims. Recently
he testified on behalf of the U.S. Department of Justice
regarding the income taxes paid by certain Fortune 500
plaintiffs and raised significant issues related to their
damage claims. He has also served as court appointed referee
on accounting matters.
Mr. Wolf obtained a Masters of Business Administration
degree from the University of Southern California in 1970
with an emphasis in Finance and Quantitative Analysis.
He also received his Bachelor of Business Administration
from USC with an emphasis in Accounting. He has authored
publications on the use of tax returns to understand a
business, tax planning in business acquisitions and other
tax matters. He has lectured extensively on income taxation,
fraud prevention, family law matters, including presentations
to the American Academy of Matrimonial Attorneys, American
Bar Association, the Beverly Hills Bar, and the Burbank
Bar.
Mr. Wolf is a Certified Public Accountant and member
of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants
and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants.
He is a former member of the Real Estate and Thrift Committees
of the California Society and currently serves on the Economic
Damages Committee of CIMS.
